Elepsio

Foundations of Form

The Elepsio floor lamp stands at the intersection of raw geometry and refined function. Its design is a study in elemental shapes: a solid concrete cone forms the stable base, evoking earthy solidity, while a slender anodized aluminum rod rises gracefully upward. At its apex sits a warm, hand-finished wooden block housing the LED module and hidden electronics. This wooden cube is more than a mechanical housing – it is a tactile counterpoint in the composition, balancing the cool hardness of metal with the organic warmth of wood.

Light as Movement

A continuous plastic strip emerges through a subtle groove in the wooden block and loops around the light source to create the lampshade. As the strip is drawn tighter or loosened, the ring of light expands or contracts, intuitively adjusting brightness and beam spread. This transformative loop—shifting from a flat ribbon into a full circle—makes the lampshade itself a dynamic element of the design. The entire wooden module can slide up and down the vertical rod, changing the lamp’s height and presence in space with simple movement.

Material Dialogue

Conceived as both sculpture and tool, Elepsio draws inspiration from raw, elemental materials. The tactile interplay of concrete, aluminum, wood and plastic invites touch and curiosity. A bold orange power cable arcs from the wooden block, a functional vein of energy and a deliberate burst of color. Through its bold forms and careful craftsmanship, Elepsio finds balance between expressive artistry, precise engineering, and practical utility, illuminating its surroundings while exuding quiet sculptural beauty.
